  • "Sports Law Update – Negotiating the Sporting Contract”, delivered to lawyers at the Leo Cussen Institute, Continuing Legal Education, 19 November, 2007, Co-presenter, Paul Hayes, Barrister.
  • “The Coach & the Law – Level 1 coaches qualification course”, for AFL Victoria, delivered to all Victorian coaches seeking accreditation or re-accreditation, delivered April 1, 22, 29, 2008, numerous times 2006-08.
  • “Legal Issues in Athlete Management”, delivered to students at Deakin University, Masters of Sports Management course, 23rd April, 2008, and April 2007 (covers topics such as doping, disciplinary tribunal hearings, marketing the athlete’s image).
  • “Protection of Rights, Participants Issues at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games – Athletes, Doping, WADA, Whereabouts and BALCO”, delivered to lawyers at the Law Institute of Victoria Sports & Major Events Conference, 8th March, 2006, RACV Club.
  • “Best Governance Practice in Sports Organisations & Leagues”, delivered April, 2008, to the Board of the Victorian Waterpolo Association, based on an award winning paper on the same topic by Paul Horvath.


Upcoming speaking Events:

 

“Industrial relations in sport, and incursions into the personal lives and behaviour of athletes”, Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association national conference, Melbourne, October 16-17, 2008, being delivered to lawyers and sports administrators.

"Eastern Metropolitan Region Leadership in Community (LinC) Forum", 25th July, 2008.  Fellow speakers include David Parkin, former AFL player and coach, Rachel Sporn, Australian Basketball representative, & Magistrate Nunzio La Rosa.  The one day conference will discuss Effective Leadership with a focus on drug and alcohol issues for youth, considered in a sporting context.  Go to http://www.emrlinc-forum.com/.
