LLM student wins prestigious Sports Law prize
Congratulations to Paul Horvath, one of our LLM students
specialising in sports law, for winning the Paul Trisley Award
for the year’s best academic paper on a sports law topic.
Paul’s paper, League Structure, Economics and Best
Governance Practice in Metropolitan Australian Football
Leagues was a modified version of a paper he wrote for the
Melbourne Law Masters subject
Sports Law: Entities and Governance originally submitted in
early 2007.
The prestigious annual award was established in 1995 by the Australian and New Zealand Sports
Law Association and presented to Paul at the Association’s
annual conference dinner in Queensland in November 2007.
His paper will be published in the 2008 edition of the
Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Journal, a refereed
publication.
