]]> SportsLawyer employee, Alexandria Anthony, had her article (co-written with Swiss attorney Dr Alexandra Veuthey) recently published on leading sports law website LawInSport: David Mackay’s Unpunished ‘Bump’: Why Australian Sports Must Do More To Tackle Head And Facial Injuries.

It’s a two part article dealing in the first part with sports law issues arising from concussion and head injuries generally, and in the second part, carefully reviewing the Mackay bump incident from round 12 of the 2021 AFL season, the AFL rules, and comparing the incident with similar incidents from the AFL. The article recommends rule changes, and draws lessons from the Mackay/AFL case study for sports organisations generally.
